Athletes have more tools than ever to develop physically. Far less attention has gone to everything else. SheMate closes that gap with the women who have already walked through it.
Young athletes can find a strength program, a skills coach, a nutrition plan, and video breakdown of every rep. What they can't easily find is a woman two steps ahead of them who will tell them the truth about what it's actually like.
By partnering with schools and clubs, we bring that woman to your athletes every week, and then another one the week after.
Sports are one of the most powerful places to show girls what women can be, and they have badly underused that power. Our community of college, pro, Olympic, and Paralympic women athletes leads every one of our sessions, changing what a young athlete sees now, and who's in the industry later.
Founder
Teresa spent years as a social worker and college professor before turning her focus to the youth sports industry, where she is dedicated to promoting mental wellness and healthy sport practices. Drawing on her background in school social work and cognitive behavioral therapy, she founded SheMate to give girls in sports access to mentorship from women athletes, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of wellness through meaningful support and connection. Her work is grounded in research demonstrating that athletics can have a powerful, lasting impact when girls are supported by healthy, high-quality sport environments.

Kristin brings more than a decade in healthcare and fitness to SheMate, along with the perspective of a former athlete who knows the gap firsthand. Coming up through her own sport, she never quite found the network of women she needed to grow, steady herself, and see what was possible. That absence stayed with her. At SheMate she is building the community she went looking for and never found, so the next generation of girls doesn't have to.
